With or without a car, here are the 12 best beaches near Boston this summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Revere Beach<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This destination is only a short walk from the Revere Beach T stop, so you don’t have to deal with traffic or renting a car to get away from the city. One of the most convenient spots for ocean access, it is also recognized as the first public beach in America. There are live music and entertainment venues at Revere Beach every year, the popular Kelly’s Roast Beef, and the Revere Beach International Sand Sculpting Festival that takes place this year from Friday, July 28, to Sunday, July 30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Constitution Beach Park<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n


From its sand beach to its open green space for Frisbee, football, and more, Constitution Beach Park is just a ten-minute walk from the Blue Line. Additionally, there are playgrounds, baseball fields, basketball courts, and tennis courts nearby, so everyone can enjoy beach day to the fullest. However, if you’re looking to take it easy, you can watch the planes arrive and depart from nearby car service Logan International Airport<\/a><\/strong> from the comfort of your beach towel. It’s convenient for Dorchester and South Boston residents to visit Carson Beach along South Boston’s shoreline, and it’s only a short walk from the JFK\/UMass stations. Afterward, you can enjoy a cocktail or two at such nightlife favorites as Loco, Lincoln Tavern, or L Street Tavern if you want something more casual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wollaston Beach<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n


Take the T to Wollaston for a much-needed field trip if you typically take the Red Line. Along Quincy Shore Drive, there’s Wollaston Beach, a two-mile stretch that can be reached easily, and it’s a great place for a relaxing morning or afternoon. Whether you want to sunbathe or not, the beach’s walking or biking trails will help you switch up your weekend routine. You can enjoy scenic, panoramic views from the beach reservation, which stretches over 67 acres of the coastal town of Nahant. Spectacle Island<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n


This 114-acre island is part of Boston Harbor Islands National and State Park, and once you reach it, you can choose your own adventure. Its famous white sand and a certain sound (some say it sounds more like a squeak) are both well known on the North Shore’s Singing Beach. Due to the sand’s unique size, shape, and makeup, wind passes over the dunes, making a sound. Apart from the \u201csinging,\u201d the beach provides a tranquil getaway for those who want to unwind. You can also eat at Cala’s, head over to Bravo by the Sea for wood-fired pizza, or get frozen treats at Captain Dusty’s Ice Cream in Manchester-by-the-Sea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wingaersheek Beach<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n


Among Gloucester’s three beaches (Good Harbor Beach, Stage Fort Park, and Wingaersheek Beach), you can dip your toes in the crystal-clear waters off Wingaersheek Beach. Besides being one of the most scenic beaches nearby, Wingaersheek is also about a 15-minute drive away from waterfront dining options such as Yella on the Water, The Gloucester House, and Minglewood Harborside. You’ll need to make a reservation online if you’re planning on parking at the beach or Stage Fort Park if you’re not a resident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Road trips to Rockport are a must-see.
